Advanced features of this umbrella include a metal crank housing, resin hubs and threaded couplings. These elements are all of reliable quality. The deluxe tilt mechanism ensures the smoothest tilting operation possible. Simply keep turning the crank when the canopy is open to adjust the tilt to the perfect angle. A cord is used inside the umbrella rather than a rope for superior durability. There are 40 inches from the ground to the crank mechanism.
Select the perfect canopy color from over two dozen choices and three fabric options. We offer resilient and attractive Sunbrella and Suncryclic fabrics. All are solution-dyed for colorfastness and all offer warranties against fading. The choice, style, and luxury of this umbrella are hard to beat.
The umbrella has a 2-year limited warranty that covers workmanship and material quality. This warranty does not cover wind damage or normal wear and tear. Umbrella ribs are excluded from this warranty and not covered. Replacement ribs and poles can be purchased for non-warranty related issues.
Sunbrella fabric has a 5-year warranty against fading. Suncrylic has 1-year warranty.

Cleaning and Caring for Sunbrella
Regular maintenance is the best way to keep your Sunbrella fabrics looking good and delay deep, vigorous cleaning. Brush off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, and wipe up spills as soon as they occur. For light cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution and a sponge, allowing your cleaning solution to soak into the fabric. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue and allow fabric to air dry.
 | Sunbrella fabrics have been tested to provide up to 98% UV protection, depending on depth of color. Whites and lighter colored fabrics provide less protection than darker fabrics. This protective factor is inherent to the product and will not diminish through use or exposure to the sun. We recently purchased this umbrella to replace an old 7'(not Galtech)one damaged by high winds. Our special order[...] was very easy to assemble. The extra two feet is perfect for our use. The sand colored pole matches our sand colored table and the upgraded Sunbrella fabric (Bravada Salsa) is quite nice. We added an LED Umbrella Light for evening use which works great. We close and tie it when not in use and so far we are very happy with this seemingly sturdy umbrella.

I am satisfied at the execption of the overall size . It is slightly smaller than my previous sunbrella. The material ( Sunbrella) is cut extremely tight, about 1"1/2 too short all around. This worries me about premature wear and tear at the corners .

The cord inside the umbrella broke when winding the umbrella up. We have only had it a few weeks and paid over $400. Our last umbrella lasted three years and was a cheaper brand. I guess you don't always get a better product when paying more. Very unhappy!

We purchased the Galtech 9-ft. Aluminum Deluxe Auto Tilt Patio Umbrella (black on black). We are very pleased thus far with our first purchase from Hayneedle, and are impressed with our first Galtech umbrella's construction and quality.
The only concern I have (causing the 4-star instead of 5-star rating) is the long-term durability of the stitching on the Sunbrella material. This umbrella replaced a 12-year-old umbrella (wood frame with double pulley system) whose stitching finally just wore out from years of great use in sun and rain--no complaints (stored in attic off season). The pockets for the spokes on the old Sunbrella material did not expose any stitching top-side. The new one has two lines of stitching--one on either side of the pocket top-side. While this new stitching not only unnecessarily exposes stitching for each pocket to direct sunlight, the manner of stitching has created small holes on each side at the top of the pocket for several of the pockets. I am concerned that these small holes may cause premature stitching failure of the material as it tugs the fabric when opening/opened. This may be how stitching is done on all current Sunbrella umbrellas, but it is different than what they did several years ago--hopefully, not cutting corners (no pun intended).
Unfortunately, only time will tell on the durability of the new stitching pattern--likely to occur outside of the manufacturer's warranty.
Given all of the above, this umbrella appears to be the best that is currently available for residential applications.
