About Sunbrella
Sunbrella has been the leader in performance fabrics for over 45 years. Impeccable quality, sophisticated styling and best-in-class warranties prove the new generation of Sunbrella offers more possibilities than ever. Sunbrella fabrics are breathable and water-repellant. If kept dry, they will not support the growth of mildew as natural fibers will. Beautiful and durable, Sunbrella is a name you can trust in your outdoor furniture.
Cleaning and Caring for Sunbrella
Regular maintenance is the best way to keep your Sunbrella fabrics looking good and delay deep, vigorous cleaning. Brush off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, and wipe up spills as soon as they occur. For light cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution and a sponge, allowing your cleaning solution to soak into the fabric. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue and allow fabric to air dry. I ordered two of these with the collar tilt. The collar tilt is easy to use, requires little strength for an adult to adjust, and keeps me in the shade as it can be adjusted throughout the day. I love it!
We had our pool refinished with umbrella holes in three areas within the pool (in the wading area, on a step, and over the spa). We can place the umbrellas where we like and they provide shade while we are in the pool. They are not too heavy for me to maneuver by myself and I am no muscle mama (120 lbs and no muscles).
They are also useful in the rain. My hubby likes to swim when it rains, but it's too cold for me, so I sip wine under the umbrella to keep him company. It withstands the wind and is plenty big to keep a few people dry. Kids love it.
The umbrella itself is very attractive. I got a neutral color ("natural" I think) with the "champagne" colored hardware. It is NOT a champagne/gold color; it's more like a bronzy dark brown, but as it turns out, it looks great.
The tip of the umbrella top is not modern or round as pictured, but the acorn shape is satisfactory.
I got the cheaper umbrella cover that they sell on this site because I liked how it looks. Turns out it's the exact same color as our custom color (natural?) and it's attractive. It's hard to reach the top of the umbrella to put the cover on while the umbrella is up, but I love how it looks, so the trade off is fine for me. There were other covers with extended reaches but the material looked like parachute material instead of thick quality canvas, which is what mine looks like.
There was a little issue with one order, but Hayneedle took care of it ASAP with outstanding and friendly customer service. Thank you. I will surely order from them again in the future.

Comments about FiberBuilt Premium 9-ft. Wind-Resistant Aluminum Market Umbrella:
This is a very well made umbrella, with a weak spot. The tilt mechanism relies on a thin metal cover, and that cover snapped off one night...a night with almost no wind. Hayneedle promptly replaced the umbrella, so I ordered the replacement without the tilt mechanism.
Very high quality on the replacement umbrella...love it and it looks like it will last for years.

Comments about FiberBuilt Premium 9-ft. Wind-Resistant Aluminum Market Umbrella:
I bought several of these umbrellas for use in wrought iron tables on our winery deck and patio. The fiberglass ribs are strong and so is the fabric. The colors are vibrant. Poles look great and feel really strong. We keep them closed and tied when not in use and haven't seen them perform in a high wind yet. Easy to open with the crank. Also bought one 11' size, which opens with cord and pulley, which is a little more difficult, but it could simply depend on the strength of the person doing the opening. These will be used five days a week from April - October, so I wanted to buy what I thought would last for many seasons. So far, I think I made the right choice.
