The Coral Coast 9-ft. Easy Lift Wind Resistant Patio Umbrella will open on your patio with a single hand, thanks to the patented EZ Lift system. Opening other large umbrellas can be a hassle, and opening them improperly can sometimes cause damage, but you won't have those concerns with this attractive 9-foot umbrella. The handle for the EZ Lift housing won't even interfere with the height of the table. Held up by a 1.5-inch powder-coated pole with a bronze finish, this square umbrella is ready to shade tables up to 54 inches wide. The fiberglass ribs are stronger than traditional wooden ribs, and can withstand the elements as well the occasional bumps and falls.
For freestanding use in breezier climates, you may want to consider purchasing an umbrella stand of 75 lbs. or more. Coral Coast products are designed to withstand commercial use, but are great for a home patio as well. All Sunbrella products are backed by a 5-year warranty against fading. Sunbrella fabric is the easiest outdoor fabric to care for! Simply hose off when dirty or dusty, and spot clean with mild dish soap and water. Allow it to air-dry 80% open (don't let it dry in the completely open position, as this will cause the fabric to stretch.)

About Sunbrella Fabric
Sunbrella fabric is breathable and water-repellant. If kept dry, it will not support the growth of mildew as natural fiber will. It's easy to clean, requiring simple dusting off and soap and water.
Sunbrella fabrics have been tested to provide up to 98% UV protection, depending on depth of color. Whites and lighter colored fabrics provide less protection than darker fabrics. This protective factor is inherent to the product and will not diminish through use or exposure to the sun. Sunbrella furniture fabrics have been awarded the "Seal of Recommendation" by the Skin Cancer Foundation, an international organization dedicated to the prevention of skin cancer. We previously purchased a heavier duty umbrella from another company. It was heavy and sturdy. However, wind knocked it over, breaking the umbrella in two. We reordered the framework, had it one month and the same thing happened.
This umbrella is NOT TOP-HEAVY, the vent billows, the fiber glass umbrella structure is lightweight and flexible. Our mistake was thinking heavier was better. It is not. This umbrella takes our constant breezes like a breeze! We will of course bring it down in higher winds, but the day to day way it takes the wind is awesome. A++++

Let me start off by saying I purchased mine at a substancial discount. Otherwise I would have most likely returned mine. I purchased it to cover a 48 inch round table. This umbrella measures 100 inches when fully open straight across edge to edge. When I email customer service they informed me that it was not measured straight across edge to edge but over the top edge to edge. Given that I probably would have gone with an 11 ft product. Without the ability to tilt (which I was trying to avoid because it presents other issues that I don't particularly like) I believe you need a larger umbrella. I'm happy with the construction. It is well built and I do like the easy way it opens. I've had it for a week and it seems sturdy but only time will tell for sure. setup was straight forward. Fabric is light which I viewed as good and it looks like it will hold up. Again time will tell.

I purchased the wind-resistant unbrella in January 2012. The umbrella has been left in the up position 99% of the time. Yesterday, March 18, 2013, we experienced a softball-size hail storm in the area. MANY car and home windows broken through. Lots of damage! But my umbrella remains standing with no holes--no damage at all. A smaller hail storm, we had three years ago, tore fabric and broke the arms of a different (cheaper) umbrella.

Was skeptical at first with purchasing this without seeing it in person, but must say I am highly satisfied with my purchase. It opens with ease and closes just as easy. It is just what is says, TALL and WIDE. Looks nice on my deck for the pool area. Would purchase more if needed. Hoping this one holds up better then some I have purchased in the past.

THIS UMBRELLA IS REALLY A NICE UMBRELLA. I LOVE THE FABRIC AND THE EASY OPENING AND CLOSING. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS WITH THE SCREW ATTACHING THE POLES TOGETHER. WE BOUGHT TWO UMBRELLAS--11-FOOT AND 9-FOOT. THE 11-FOOT WAS FINE BUT THE 9-FOOT SCREW WOULD NOT RECESS ENOUGH FOR THE OPEN/CLOSE LEVER TO OPERATE. THEREFORE, WE LEFT THIS SCREW OUT. HOPEFULLY, WE WON'T ENCOUNTER ANY PROBLEMS. I WOULD HAVE RATED THIS UMBRELLA A 5-STAR IF NOT FOR THIS PROBLEM.
