Umbrella
Umbrella Base
Off the Wall Brella is a half-canopy patio umbrella that stands, without attachment, flush against a wall or vertical surface to provide shade to areas where opening a traditional round umbrella is not practical due to space restrictions. These innovative umbrellas are offered in a variety of color options, as well as two fabric options, including Olefin and Sunbrella fabrics. The Off the Wall Brella is well-suited for townhomes, apartments, and condominiums.
About Sunbrella
Sunbrella has been the leader in performance fabrics for over 45 years. Impeccable quality, sophisticated styling and best-in-class warranties prove the new generation of Sunbrella offers more possibilities than ever. Sunbrella fabrics are breathable and water-repellant. If kept dry, they will not support the growth of mildew as natural fibers will. Beautiful and durable, Sunbrella is a name you can trust in your outdoor furniture.
Cleaning and Caring for Sunbrella
Regular maintenance is the best way to keep your Sunbrella fabrics looking good and delay deep, vigorous cleaning. Brush off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, and wipe up spills as soon as they occur. For light cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution and a sponge, allowing your cleaning solution to soak into the fabric. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue and allow fabric to air dry. For more specifics on maintaining Sunbrella fabrics, visit Sunbrella.com.
| Sunbrella fabrics have been tested to provide up to 98% UV protection, depending on depth of color. Whites and lighter colored fabrics provide less protection than darker fabrics. This protective factor is inherent to the product and will not diminish through use or exposure to the sun. Sunbrella furniture and umbrella fabrics have been awarded the "Seal of Recommendation" by the Skin Cancer Foundation, an international organization dedicated to the prevention of skin cancer. Beautiful and protective fabric is the hallmark of Sunbrella. |

I did not have high expectations after reading the other reviews, but I am a smoker and sometimes I need a little cover on the back porch from the rain or even the summer burning sun. The umbrella is much wider than I expected (I bought the 9 ft sunbrella) - I can sit down on a chair under it and be completley protected from the rain. It's great for shade too. Of course, a lot of times the position of the sun makes a difference, but this happens with any umbrella. As described, it can withstand high winds. The first night after I got it, we had a huge thunderstorm with tree branch breaking winds and heavy downpours. By the time I realized what was going on outside, I thought my Brella would be either gone or torn or, simply, destroyed. Nope! Nothing happend. I have had it for 2 months now and it still looks the same it did the first day. It is a half umbrella after all: don't expect it to cover your entire porch or yard! And I think it is a great good looking alternative to an awning - it won't replace it, but you'll always have some cover from the rain or the sun.

I was so disappointed because the umbrella and stand were very well made and the sunny yellow color was just what I wanted. It was very easy to set up. I am 80 years young and did it by myself. The stand was very heavy but I dragged it outside and the installation was excellent. I waited for the afternoon Sun and it flooded my balcony and the umbrella did not shield any part of the Western Sun from my 5th floor balcony.

Comments about 9-ft. Off-The-Wall Patio Umbrella:
I live in Texas where the heat can be unbearable in the summer -- I bought this to go in an area that could not accommodate a normal umbrella. This is a great solution. I only wish it came in 11 or 13 ft. Spend the extra money to get Sunbrella fabric as it dries fast and never fades, even after years in the Tx. heat. I will buy another before the next summer.

Q1: What is the difference between Olefin vs. Sunbrella?
A: Olefin is a weather- and sunlight-resistant durable fabirc whereas the Sunbrella is 100% solution-dyed acrylic fabric. The sunbrella fabric is focused on maintaining the color and resisting fading. The olefin does focus on this aspect as well, but is a much lighter weight then the sunbrella.
