A 50 - 70 lb. umbrella stand is recommended for thru-table use and a stand of at least 70 lbs. is recommended for freestanding use.
About Sunbrella Fabric
Sunbrella fabric is breathable and water-repellant. If kept dry, it will not support the growth of mildew as natural fiber will. It's easy to clean, requiring simple dusting off and soap and water.
Sunbrella fabrics have been tested to provide up to 98% UV protection, depending on depth of color. Whites and lighter colored fabrics provide less protection than darker fabrics. This protective factor is inherent to the product and will not diminish through use or exposure to the sun. Solid construction; even cover color; sturdy base and ribs. I believe this umbrella will stand up to the 300+ days of sunshine and high temperatures in Nevada for a full 5 years. Sunbrella fabric is the best and only material I would recommend to use in the harsh Nevada climate. The construction of this particular umbrella is also sturdy enough and well enough made to handle the 30+ degree daily temperature changes in the desert.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Umbrella is very nice. Sunbrella fabric appears heavy duty. Pole is aluminum but hinges at spokes are plastic and time will tell if these hold up. We paid $300+ b/c we intend for the umbrella to last 7-8 years with only Spring - Fall exposure. Our others have lasted that long. Caution: an 11' umbrella can not be inserted into a 9' umbrella stand and/or inserted through a table designed for a 9'. We learned the hard way, and am back on here to order the stand. Went to local home improvement store and bought a stand, but not designed for this umbrella so doesn't support it w/o slight lean. At this price - I'm not interested in a leaning umbrella.

This umbrella is so beautiful! I purchased it in the Sunbrella Ginko color. Our backyard has lots of trees along the creek and the Ginko Green blends beautifully with the rest of the greens from the trees.
The wood pole is so well coated!
I am considering getting another umbrella for even more spectacular ambiance and shade.

I've had a few market umbrellas over the last 15 years, but have not ever purchased one this nice. The fabric is soft, and the color vibrant. Really like the two piece pole. Nice quality.
The finish on the wood should give extended life to the wood.
Product arrived in about three days. Very impressed with the product AND the company.
