Q1: We have a 13 ft umbrella on our deck and it does get windy. We need a very sturdy stand to hold the umbrella and keep it up when its windy. If this one does not work please recommend one that would.

A: If you are using this stand along with a patio table you should have enough support, if you are going to be using this stand for a free-standing umbrella it will not be heavy enough.

This stand is hefty (as advertised) and lovely to look at. The only downside is that it can be a little difficult to thread the tube on the base properly. Thank goodness my father was around to suggest that I spread Vaseline on the threads so that I would not strip either piece. Now that everything is installed I am loving my new stand and umbrella!
