The patented dual-purpose 2-inch stem allows you to use this stand with poles up to 1.5 inches in diameter in free-standing or through-the-table shade applications. It can accommodate market umbrella poles measuring up to 1.5 in diameter. Extend the stem when supporting a free-standing patio umbrella, and reduce the stem when positioning it under a table.
