It's an umbrella stand. It has a pretty good sized opening on the side with which to fill with sand. It seemed pretty sturdy once the umbrella is in there so all in all it seems just fine.

Filled it up with sand and it was ready to use. Heavy enough to hold a 9 ft umbrella without any issues..

I was suprised that they were not filled. They state that they are 50lbs base. I had to fill them myself. It wasn't diffult to do I was just suprised.

it's not pretty but you can't see it under my table, so it's worth saving the $60
